To create a tube deck that increases the effective settling area, tube settlers use multiple tubular PVC channels that are adjacent to one another and angled at a 60° angle.
Between them, the flocculated water rises as it enters the tube deck from below. Solids settle onto the surface area given by the tube surface as the water flows upward. The heavy solids keep sliding to the collection hopper along the tube surfaces.
Application Areas
- Raw Water Treatment
- Sewage Treatment
- Primary Effluent Treatment
Benefits of Underground Pioneers
Any size clarifier or basin can benefit from the following tube settlers advantages:
Up to half of the coagulant dosage can be reduced while still allowing the influent turbidity of the treatment plant filters to be lower.
Significant operating cost savings for both water and power result from less filter backwashing.
The higher flow capabilities of tube settlers allows for smaller designs for new installations.
Tube settlers can be added to existing water treatment plants to enhance flow.
By boosting the settling capacity and sediment removal rate in settling tanks, tube settlers raise the permissible flow capacity.
