Clarification and flocculation are combined in a single tank by the Clariflocculator. It features two concentric tanks, the outer of which functions as a clarifier and the inner of which as a flocculation basin.

Water enters the flocculator in the Clariflocculator, where the feed solids’ flocculation is improved by the flocculating paddles. In the clarifier zone, the liquid flows radially upward as heavier particles sink to the bottom. The liquid that has been cleared is released into the peripheral launder via a peripheral weir. The deposited sludge is directed to the sludge chamber and released after being raked to the bottom close to the central weir.
